<p><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Head of Finance,&nbsp;</strong><br><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Canada Life Re, Barbados</strong></p><p>The Canada Life Re&rsquo;s Barbados legal entities reinsure life and P&amp;C (non-life) business in the international market and play an important role for and in the wider Great-West Lifeco, Inc (Lifeco) organisation. This role is responsible for all aspects of Finance including financial and statutory reporting, financial planning and analysis and strategic management of financial resources.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Role Overview</strong><br>Reporting to the Head of Reinsurance Operations, Barbados and the CFO, CLRe, the Head of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the multiple Barbados legal entities.&nbsp;<br>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Develop and implement the local financial strategy aligning with divisional objectives as set by the CFO for CLRe.</li><li>Advise the CLRe CFO on key financial topics and provide insights on portfolio performance, capital allocation, and entity-level financial matters.</li><li>Oversee all accounting, financial reporting, and internal control processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standard.</li><li>Champion the adoption of effective financial systems, technology, and process enhancements and oversee the standardization of reporting frameworks.</li><li>Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.</li><li>Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment strategies to optimise financial resources.</li><li>Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.</li><li>Work with external and internal experts to drive tax planning and oversee implementation strategies.</li><li>Foster a sustainable relationship with the Barbados regulatory authority and local industry bodies.</li><li>Coordinate external audits and maintain relationships with auditors, banks, and financial partners.</li></ul><p><strong>Leadership</strong></p><ul><li>Act as an inspirational role model providing leadership and guidance to the finance team.</li><li>Ensure appropriate frameworks are in place to enhance the long-term sustainability of the team.</li><li>Develop, mentor and coach leaders and employees to reach their full potential.</li><li>Examine employee engagement results and work with HR to action.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications and Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent required.</li><li>Reinsurance or insurance experience would be an asset.</li><li>Minimum of 15 years of experience in finance or accounting.</li><li>Strong knowledge of international financial reporting and accounting standards (IFRS), tax compliance and financial regulations.</li><li>Proven track record of overseeing financial operations of multiple business units or companies.</li><li>Expertise in evaluating investments, capital structure, and key performance indicators (&ldquo;KPIs&rdquo;).</li></ul><p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><ul><li>Full-time, permanent position based in Barbados and may require some international travel.</li><li>Hybrid working: 3-4 in office days per week.</li></ul><p>Suitably qualified applicants interested in this exciting opportunity should send their Curriculum Vitae to https://caribbeancatalyst.hire.trakstar.com/jobs/fk0z3gh?source= no later than<strong> Wednesday, March 4, 2026.</strong> Clearly demonstrate in your CV how your experience is well suited to this role.</p>
