Location: HK Programs Corporate Office – 2 Summit Court, Fishkill, NY 12524
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $22–$26 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications

About the Role
Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a motivated HR Generalist with at least 1 year of HR experience to lead employee engagement initiatives, benefits administration, HR operations, and compliance in our Fishkill, NY office. This on-site role offers opportunities to deliver presentations, lead training sessions, and engage directly with employees and managers. You’ll gain hands-on experience across all HR functions while advancing your HR career in a supportive, people-first organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead employee engagement initiatives through surveys, communications, and check-ins
- Conduct monthly benefits education sessions, virtual orientations, and HR workshops
- Administer benefits for new hires, life events, and open enrollment
- Oversee the company Handbook and policies
- Manage leave requests and ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA)
- Independently support employee relations matters, including conflicts, performance concerns, and disciplinary actions
- Administer HRIS/HRIMS systems (Paylocity, ADP, Paychex, or similar) by creating and updating employee records, processing onboarding/offboarding and role changes, managing workflows and approvals, generating reports, and configuring system settings
- Support managers on HR operations, performance management, and documentation
- Generate HR reports for compliance and organizational decision-making
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of HR experience, generalist experience preferred.
- Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources or a related field
- Hands-on experience administering HRIS/HRIMS systems (Paylocity, ADP, Paychex, or similar), including employee record management, reporting, workflow administration, and system configuration
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills; comfortable leading workshops, orientations, and team meetings
- Excellent organizational skills with consistent follow-through
- Experience managing employee conflicts and performance discussions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Discretion in handling confidential information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
