Description
Janus of Santa Cruz is seeking a compassionate, dedicated Therapist to join our Integrated Behavioral Health team. In this role, you will provide clinical support across Janus programs—including the Janus OTP (Methadone) Clinics, Residential & Withdrawal Management Program, and the Women and Children’s Center—offering direct client care and serving as a clinical resource to staff.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide individual, group, family, couples, and youth psychotherapy, depending on program.
- Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and ensure timely documentation that meets agency and regulatory standards.
- Maintain caseload aligned with assigned KPIs and seek consultation as needed.
- Participate in client admissions, including pre-admit screenings, risk assessments (CSSR), and safety planning.
- Model trauma-informed, strengths-based, culturally responsive practices.
Collaboration & Support
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, whole-person care.
- Support staff with conflict resolution, crisis response, and de-escalation.
- Serve as a clinical resource for staff by providing guidance, consultation, and training.
Program-Specific Duties
Admissions
- Support LPHA functions through diagnosis review, medical necessity documentation, and team consultations.
- Provide assessments for utilization review and appeals.
- Attend interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to care coordination.
Perinatal Program
- Oversee children’s and family services, including family sessions and childcare supervision.
- Provide therapy for individuals, families, and groups.
- Assess children’s developmental needs; provide parenting support and developmental education.
Opiate Treatment Program
- Provide individual and family therapy.
- Participate in MAT team case consultations.
- Deliver services at both North and South County clinics.
Professional Development
- Attend required trainings and administrative meetings.
- For ASW/AMFT/APCC candidates: attend weekly supervision and maintain BBS licensure progress.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited university.
- Registration or licensure through the California BBS (AMFT, ASW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC).
- Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of co-occurring behavioral and physical health issues.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with CalAIM, managed care documentation, and integrated care models.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
- Ability to use EHRs and other healthcare IT systems.
- Ability to travel as required.
