The Chief Engineer will supervise and coordinate all hotel maintenance operations, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and kitchen equipment, while leading, managing, and developing the maintenance team. This role also involves collaborating on construction/renovation projects and ensuring maintenance tasks meet high guest satisfaction standards.

Description
· Supervise and coordinate maintenance operations across the hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventative maintenance, guest rooms, HVAC systems, ice machines, swimming pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, roof exhausts, and electrical substations.
Lead, manage, and develop a team of maintenance associates, including recruitment, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
Ensure all maintenance projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and efficient execution of tasks.
Manage scheduling, material ordering, and task completion for various maintenance projects.
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and construction supervisors regarding new construction and renovation projects.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift, pull up to 70 pounds.
- Must be able to push, bend, stoop, reach overhead, and perform manual tasks with dexterity.
- Ability to hear, write, and type as necessary.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hotel maintenance operations and systems.
- In-depth understanding of applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
- HVAC EPA certification is a plus.
- Strong mathematical and computer skills, including proficiency with relevant software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or relevant training preferred. Additional education is a plus.
- Must be able to obtain required licenses or certifications in a timely manner.
- CPR certification required; first aid certification preferred.
- Additional language proficiency is a plus.
- Occasional travel may be required.
