About the Role

Description

Care Plan Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide oversight, and training within our non-medical Private Duty Programs. This is not a hospital or skilled medical treatment role.

This position focuses on:

  • In-home client admission assessments
  • Field supervision of caregivers and CNAs
  • Training and development of non-medical caregiving staff 

We are specifically seeking an RN with deep, hands-on experience in Private Duty home care supervision and management.


 

Core Responsibilities

1. Client Admission Assessments (Non-Medical Program Oversight)

  • Conduct comprehensive in-home assessments for new clients
  • Develop service plans aligned with non-medical home care scope
  • Evaluate safety, functional status, and caregiver support needs
  • Ensure services remain within non-medical program parameters
     

2. Field Supervision & Private Duty Oversight

  • Perform routine and unscheduled supervisory visits
  • Evaluate caregiver performance in the home
  • Ensure compliance with care plans and agency standards
  • Provide corrective coaching and field-level leadership
  • Support Private Duty program management
     

3. Caregiver & CNA Training

  • Lead onboarding training sessions
  • Provide skills refreshers and competency validations
  • Train caregivers in documentation, professionalism, and in-home service standards
  • Elevate caregiver performance through structured coaching
     

4. Supplemental Field Visits

  • Perform client visits as needed
  • Support quality assurance initiatives
  • Assist with compliance and documentation audits

 

This Position Is NOT For:

  • RNs whose background is exclusively ER, ICU, hospital, or acute care
  • Nurses without supervisory experience in home settings
  • Candidates lacking Private Duty management experience
  • Individuals seeking bedside clinical or skilled nursing roles
  • Applicants who prefer structured hospital systems over field-based leadership
  • Those looking for guaranteed full-time hours immediately

Work Structure

  • Contingent position to start
  • 20–40 hours per week based on census
  • Field-based throughout Wayne County
  • Growth potential as programs expand

  

Compensation

  • $33 – $40 per hour (Based on depth of Private Duty supervisory experience and program alignment).

Requirements

Critical Experience Requirement


Minimum 5+ years of direct experience in Private Duty home care supervision and management is required.


This includes:

  • Supervising caregivers, CNAs, and HHAs in client homes
  • Managing Private Duty caseloads
  • Conducting in-home supervisory visits
  • Training and developing non-medical caregiving staff
  • Overseeing service plan implementation in home settings

Experience must be specific to home-based private duty environments, not hospital-only backgrounds.


 

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Michigan RN license
  • Minimum 5+ years Private Duty home care supervisory and management experience
  • Proven experience training caregivers, CNAs, or HHAs
  • Demonstrated leadership within non-medical home care programs
  • Strong assessment and documentation skills
  • Reliable transportation for travel throughout Wayne County
