We are seeking a detail-oriented Prior Authorization Specialist to manage prior authorizations, referrals, and medical record coordination to support continuity of care and accurate reimbursement.


Pay & Schedule

  • Competitive starting wage of $16.68+ per hour, based on experience and qualifications. 
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday - Clinics close at 2:00 pm every Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain, process, and track prior authorizations for referrals and diagnostic imaging
  • Coordinate with insurance companies, hospitals, and specialty providers
  • Close referral loops and follow up on consult notes and results
  • Manage incoming lab results, imaging reports, faxes, and medical records within the EMR
  • Process pharmacy refill requests and provider communications
  • Review records for completeness and retrieve missing documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of EMR experience required
  • 2+ years of patient-facing medical experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, PPOs, and insurance processes preferred
  • Family practice or hospital experience preferred
