Staffed with Critical Care Specialists, experienced emergency veterinarians, and skilled technicians, you can count on PVESC to care for your pet when your regular day clinic isn’t open or if critical care is needed. Be advised that care is prioritized based on triage determination. This may affect wait times. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. SPECIALTY SERVICES: Our board-certified veterinary specialists receive referrals from veterinary hospitals and work in partnership with your family veterinarian for the benefit of your pet. PVESC provides advanced diagnostics, sophisticated techniques, and the treatment of complex diseases and injuries, working together to provide diagnoses and effective therapies for the most challenging conditions. When your family veterinarian refers you to Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care, it is because they know we will work hand-in-hand with them to ensure the best help for your pet. Your veterinarian will provide us with supportive documentation of your pet’s condition for the initial consultation. We will continue to work with you and your pet throughout the duration of the illness for which you sought our attention.

Anticipated Schedule
This is a full-time position

Some holidays are required

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Compensation

  • Starting at $22-34/hour, commensurate with experience and licensure

Requirements

What You’ll Do


As a Licensed Veterinary Technician in our Ophthalmology department, you’ll work closely with specialists and clinicians across departments to deliver accurate, high-quality care.


In this role, you will:

  • Accurately draw up, calculate, and administer medications, maintaining patient safety
  • Utilize and maintain all monitoring equipment and troubleshoot when needed
  • Perform daily and weekly maintenance of anesthesia and imaging equipment
  • Coordinate daily procedures across all departments
  • Uphold standards related to safety, infection control, and OSHA protocols
  • Serve as a patient advocate, maintaining accurate treatment and anesthesia records

Who We’re Looking For:

  • LVT/CVT/RVT licensure in good standing
  • Ability to lift 35–45 lbs and support mobility of larger patients
  • Strong organizational, teamwork, and time-management skills
  • A positive attitude and commitment to helping pets live their best lives
