About the Role

Description

Job Title: Certified Nurse Assistant

Department: Long Term Care

Reports To: Charge Nurse

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hours: 30-35.5 hours/week (Regular Part-time)

Shift: Night shift (6:00pm -6:00am)

ABOUT THE POSITION

Our CNAs serve a vital role in our Long Term Care facility, providing compassionate care to those who can no longer care for themselves. This rewarding work makes a true and touching difference in the lives of each resident, their family, and the entire community.


More specifically, some of your daily responsibilities would include:

  • Performing morning and evening hygiene routines
  • Ensuring that residents are fed and hydrated
  • Following personalized care plans for each resident
  • Repositioning residents
  • Keeping the resident and resident’s space clean to ensure comfort and prevent infection


Working closely with the residents, CNAs are vital to their physical and emotional wellbeing and can experience deep fulfillment from providing for their needs.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Idaho or willing to obtain CNA within 120 days of hire
  • Must be CPR-certified
  • Must have a working knowledge of basic healthcare equipment including wheelchairs, electrical beds, lift equipment, carts, scales, and vital sign analysis equipment
  • Must be able to competently and positively work with residents, other employees, and the public


Essential Job Functions

  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or twist
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance
  • Occasionally required to operate foot controls and lifts
  • Frequently able to move or push up to 35 pounds, and occasionally able to lift, carry, move, or push up to 100 pounds
  • Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision
  • Must comply with HIPAA and patient privacy
  • Must wear PPE when situations require


Work Environment

  • FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year: operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients
  • Potential exposure to blood, body tissue and fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste
  • Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud or unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stress
