About the Role

Description

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for an individual to join our team as a Hospital Services Supervisor in Dunwoody, GA. This position is responsible for issues relating to the shipment, delivery and storage of blood, blood components and cord blood in compliance with organizational policies and procedures and performing daily supervisory responsibilities.


**Available Shift: Third Shift - 10:00pm to 6:30am, 8-hour shifts for 5 days a week.****Weekend and on-call hours required, as necessary.**


Starting salary range is $21.75 - $23.92 an hour, commensurate with education and directly related experience

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)

- Directly supervise Hospital Services staff

- Ensure a safe and efficient operating environment with adequate staffing levels to meet department goals

- Coordinate daily work assignments for all team members to ensure each team member performs the minimum requirements of the Career Development Program

- Oversee and participate with the training of coworkers/subordinates

- Follow and enforce safety precautions including, but not limited to, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment, equipment use, donor and patient safety and fire/carbon monoxide safety

- Ensure all staff operations are compliant with LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures

- Oversee blood product import/export functions for the center to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments

- Make regular on-site visits to hospital client sites to assess customer service needs

- Pack blood products, blood samples and other items for shipment according to established packing procedures

- Act as a courier and drive LifeSouth vehicles

- Coordinate the movement of inventory within the region between hospitals

- Increase the utilization of the fleet and minimize costs


Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED

- Valid driver’s license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver’s eligibility requirements

- Ability to organize and manage time effectively

- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

- Ability to follow moderately complex oral and written instructions

- Ability to maintain records in accordance with compliance and regulatory standards

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

- Two years of related experience in blood center operations preferred

- Previous supervisory experience preferred
