About the Role:
The Fabrication Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily operations within the metal fabrication departments, including Mitsubishi CO2/Nitrogen lasers, denesting pick operations, Mitsubishi brake press and forming, hardware insertion (PEM), and general labor support.
This role oversees not only production output, safety, and quality, but also equipment performance, preventive maintenance execution, and overall machine reliability. The Production Supervisor ensures safe, efficient, and on-time production while minimizing downtime and driving continuous improvement.
Hours & Pay
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 6:00am–3:30pm; F 6:00am-10:00am
Pay Range: $60,000 - $77,000 annually
Responsibilities:
Safety
- Assesses work behaviors and work environment to ensure safe working conditions.
- Increases safety awareness, supports and implements safety projects.
- Minimizes hazardous wastes from processes, continually seeking alternatives.
Quality
- Support customer quality requirements and provide technical guidance for staff, ensuring competency in all aspects of assembly.
- Product verification systems in place throughout build process.
- Understands preventative and corrective actions and implements in a timely fashion.
Leadership
- Provide effective leadership, identifying critical skills required for team success and offering opportunity for growth.
- Promote teamwork, provide proper communication, and feedback to the team.
- Participate in workforce planning and recruitment efforts to achieve capacity targets are met.
- Responsible to ensure proper training, complete employee performance evaluations, manage time and attendance, and respond to minor personnel issues with appropriate action.
- Enforces company policy and ensures procedures in place result in action.
Operations
Supervise daily operations across:
- CO2 and Nitrogen laser cutting work centers
- Laser denesting and material handling
- Mitsubishi brake press and forming department
- Hardware insertion (PEM/inserting machines)
- General labor personnel
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate workflow between cutting, forming, and inserting to eliminate bottlenecks and maintain production flow.
- Manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery (OTD) and customer commitments are met.
- Monitor labor utilization, productivity metrics, and overall operational efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in problem resolution as needed.
Equipment & Preventative Maintenance
- Own and enforce the department’s Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.
- Ensure all PMs are scheduled, tracked, and completed on:
- Laser cutting systems (CO2/Nitrogen)
- Mitsubishi brake presses and other forming equipment
- Hardware insertion machines
- Material handling equipment
- Coordinate with Maintenance to strategically schedule PMs and minimize downtime.
- Monitor machine performance, uptime, and recurring downtime issues.
- Lead root cause analysis for equipment failures.
- Ensure operators complete required autonomous maintenance checks.
- Maintain accurate equipment logs and documentation.
- Identify and communicate critical spare parts inventory needs.
- Drive continuous improvement in:
- Machines uptime
- Changeover time reduction
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness and future needs of equipment.
Requirements
Education/Training:
- Technical Degree and/or minimum 5 years experience in a welding/fabrication setting.
- Experience in a leadership role.
- ISO experience preferred
- Lean Manufacturing training and/or experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Computer skills
- ERP System (Epicor)
- Microsoft Suite
- HRIS (Paylocity)
- Provide professionalism, a supporting role model
- Requires a self-starter, capable of multi-tasking and problem solving.
- Communicate at a professional level both verbally and written.
- Ability to read blueprints

Physical Requirements:
- Be able to lift 10-50 lbs. for short periods; up to 100lbs occasionally
- Physical requirements may vary based upon product.
- Must be able to stand for several hours per day, sit, bend, and lift.
Materials and Equipment Utilized:
- Hand tools, assembly and testing equipment, and industry-specific metrology instruments
- Computer systems and related office equipment (computers, printers, etc.)
- Required safety equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection, cut-resistant gloves, steel-toe footwear, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection in designated areas
Working Environment:
- 95% Manufacturing: clean, low to moderate noise, safety glasses required and other personal protective equipment (PPE) where applicable.
- 5% - Customer sites: inspection of quality issues of installed or warehoused assembles
