About the Role

Description

Perform various materials handling as well as shipping and driving duties to prepare and deliver products to the customers' facilities.


Responsibilities

  • Receive rolls of material from expeditors and move into inventory according to directions.
  • On a daily basis, obtain pick sheet for shipments and use computer scanner to make entries.
  • Locate rolls of material to be shipped and verify correctness by matching the pick sheet information to the identification sticker on the material roll.
  • If order has not been approved, contact QC lab for approval.
  • Load/unload trucks as required. Verify shipments both incoming/outgoing.
  • Load material onto designated carrier.
  • Transfer information in scanner to main computer and generate bill of lading.
  • Arrange inventory using the FIFO system.
  • Pick raw material from inventory.
  • Rearrange warehouse as needed.
  • Performance preventative maintenance on company truck and forklift truck.
  • Complete daily operational forklift checklist.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Report operation of faulty equipment and unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with IATF 16949.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read and write English in order to read and comprehend work instructions.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English in order to communicate with management and other personnel as well as have the ability to train others.
  • Strong mathematical skills a must.
  • Must be able to operate powered equipment (order picker, tow motor, forklift, man lift, etc.).
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Some overhead lifting of approximately 20 lbs. is required.
  • Must not have a fear of heights (racks are approximately 30 feet).
  • Must have an appropriate valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment operating motorized vehicle(s) preferred.
  • Functions with only general directions, not close supervision.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Able to work well with others in a team environment.
