Job Description

The Category Specialist is responsible for assisting in the store execution of a $420M Tobacco Category across 650+ stores in 42 states. This role works with the category leaders in taking strategies and making them a reality in stores. As the voice of the category to the stores you will ensure the execution of the tobacco strategies and ensure stores have what they need to be successful in the tobacco category.

Essential Job Functions 

  1. Team lead in our Service Now platform where the stores can communicate opportunities and issues to the category.
  2. Oversee the development of our "On Ramp" booklet the category develops for stores that provide the instructions on execution of resets, marketing signage, promotional signage, shippers or any other activity the categories need the stores to execute.
  3. Lead the category team in our internal systems, set up new items, promotions, retails, etc.
  4. Lead execution meetings with top CPG companies, ensuring accurate on time delivery of assets, pricing and promotions to stores.
  5. Assist our new store opening teams in ensuring they have all that they need for new store openings such as tobacco fixtures, signage, delivery scheduling, etc.
  6. Work with marketing team to ensure all signage for promotions and other in store activity get to stores correctly and in the correct amounts.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in convenience, retail, or consumer packaged goods industries required.
