This role is based onsite in Fort Myers. The starting salary is $46,259.20, with slight variation possible depending on experience. New hires typically begin at or near this starting rate, based on their qualifications and relevant background.

Core Responsibilities


Recruitment & Staffing

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for external, internal, temporary, and contract positions across all levels within the agency.
  • Develop job postings, screen applications, schedule and coordinate interviews, and assist with candidate selection.
  • Partner with managers to identify staffing needs and provide guidance on recruitment best practices.


Employee Orientation 

  • Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation programs to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Provide guidance to new employees regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures.


HR Policies & Employee Support

  • Serve as a liaison between managers, employees, and Lee County Risk Management regarding worker’s compensation and job-related injuries; ensure proper documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Interpret and communicate HR policies, procedures, and regulations to staff and management.
  • Respond to HR inquiries, providing guidance on all HR functions, policies, and systems.


Records Management & Administration

  • Maintain accurate personnel files and HR records, including scanning, updating, and verifying documents.
  • Assist with annual reviews of personnel records, ensuring proper retention and secure destruction in compliance with policy and applicable laws.
  •  Maintain and evaluate online HR forms, documents, and procedures to ensure accuracy and currency.
  • Perform general office administrative duties, including mail processing, correspondence, purchasing, fixed assets, badge access, and parking coordination.


Employee Engagement

  • Coordinate Employee Recognition programs and Special Events committees to promote a positive workplace culture.



Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and relevant experience, with at least two years in administrative or HR-related roles.
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with HR systems preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to analyze problems, prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced HR environment.

 

FLSA Status Description

Work is performed independently under limited supervision with considerable latitude. Position typically requires processing and interpreting complex, less clearly defined issues.


Work Conditions

Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and material of medium to heavy weight (20-50 lbs.). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.


Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals, and to communicate orally and in writing.


Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
