Join Oshkosh Aerotech as an HVAC Technician, playing a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing HVAC systems and associated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment. You’ll handle preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, interpret blueprints and schematics, and conduct hands-on work including brazing, soldering, and welding. YOUR IMPACT 

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain, repair, and optimize HVAC systems and associated equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct brazing, soldering, welding, pipefitting, and fabrication.
  • Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and service motors, pumps, compressors, ducts, and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety guidelines and training requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification
  • 3 years of related HVAC/Electrical maintenance and repair experience in a commercial facility
  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance. 
  • Availability to work day or night shift including weekends and holidays. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience in airport operations.
  • Understanding of Johnson Control Systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and common software applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS  

While performing the duties of HVAC Technician, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircrafts and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT  

The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircrafts and around heavy equipment.
