Are you ready to take the lead in driving the financial performance of a major project?As a Cost Control Lead, you will play a critical role in overseeing cost management activities, ensuring accurate tracking, forecasting, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Your strategic mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and ability to guide others will be essential in supporting sound financial decisions and ensuring the project remains on budget and on schedule.

You will lead and mentor cost control teams, collaborate closely with project managers, engineering, procurement, and construction teams, and help establish the frameworks and tools needed for effective financial governance. Your work will directly contribute to the project’s success and long‑term value creation.

What you will be doing

  • Understand project work scope, needs and deliverables
  • Align project work scope with company structures and control accounts
  • Prepare performance reports
  • Maintain and keep up to date the Project Execution Plan for forecasting, tracking, and reporting project cost as well as estimating cost control
  • Work with the commercial team on creating project control procedures and manage development of direct reports for monthly revenue updates and reforecasting.
  • Develop and maintain status reports to keep management informed of project progress.
  • Monthly forecast updates.
  • Subcontractor Forecast backups updates.
  • Interface with project team and scheduler to  update of detailed schedules, cost information, and identification of variances from the original plan
  • Advise management of risks that may affect project profit, costs, schedules and client relations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and current risk register and conduct risk reviews.
  • Meet periodic reporting deadlines
  • Prepare the necessary tools for project cost control in order to provide clear information to the project management
  • Prepare and maintain cash flow analysis
  • Work with the commercial teams on compiling records for change to the initial contract scope.
  • Work with the commercial teams on change orders to client based on project scope changes.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience working on heavy civil infrastructure projects for a general contractor
  • Proficient with computer programs including MS Office Suite and MS Project
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Good communication and reporting skills
