SHINE Technologies is seeking a Research Engineer who will be responsible for inventing, developing, and refining the technology inherent to SHINE’s business and products. Additionally, the Research Engineer individual will be charged with troubleshooting existing systems and designing and building test equipment to expand SHINE’s basic knowledge in fields pertinent to its business.
The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities of the Research Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement experiments to further understanding of essential technologies for SHINE’s core products.
- Record and analyze data from existing systems and test rigs.
- Perform various computer analyses (mechanical, electrostatics, magnetostatics, etc.) on existing products and potential designs; provide analysis for these analyses.
- Design, prototype, and evaluate new components and products for Phoenix. Assist the mechanical engineering team in productizing these designs.
- Troubleshoot existing products and prototypes.
- Perform extensive literature searches for data and experiments relevant to Phoenix’s core technology.
- Create detailed and comprehensive written reports of work performed and results found.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in physical science or engineering field or 3+ years’ experience as a research engineer.
- Extensive knowledge of, and experience with vacuum systems and vacuum system design.
- Extensive knowledge of, and experience with high voltage power and high voltage design.
- Knowledge of CAD software, particularly SolidWorks
- Experience with finite element modeling software including mechanics, electrostatics, and magnetostatics design and the ability to rapidly learn others.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
- Must have the ability to conceive and perform mathematical analyses of complicated physical problems.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
