Role Objective:
The Aircraft Interior Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, refurbishment, modification, and installation of aircraft interior components in compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards. This role ensures all interior work meets the highest standards of safety, craftsmanship, and airworthiness expected in luxury private aviation.
Essential Job Tasks:
- Remove, repair modify, refurbish, and reinstall aircraft interior components including:
- Seats
- Carpets
- Side panels
- Headliners
- Galleys
- Lavatories
- Cabinetry and trim
- Perform upholstery repairs, refinishing, cosmetic touch-ups, and interior detailing.
- Install interior kits and complete refurbishment and modification projects.
- Interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and manufacturer instructions.
- Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations and company quality standards.
- Complete accurate maintenance documentation as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment within the hangar.
- Assist other maintenance departments as needed to support operational efficiency.
Competencies:
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of aircraft interior systems, materials, and installation techniques. Produces high-quality craftsmanship consistent with luxury aviation standards.
- Maintains working knowledge of FAA requirements (Part 135/145 as applicable). Ensures all work meets airworthiness standards and internal quality controls.
- Performs thorough inspections and delivers precise, clean finishes. Identifies and corrects discrepancies proactively.
- Adheres to OSHA guidelines, airport safety standards, and company safety protocols. Demonstrates safe work practices, including proper lifting techniques and confined-space work.
- Diagnoses issues efficiently and implements effective repair solutions. Adapts to unexpected challenges during refurbishment projects.
- Collaborates effectively with maintenance personnel and supervisors. Communicates job status, needs, and concerns clearly and professionally.
- Prioritizes tasks effectively to meet aircraft schedules and project deadlines without compromising quality.
- Demonstrates accountability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Maintains professional conduct in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Work Environment:
- Primarily performed in an airport hangar setting.
- Exposure to varying temperatures depending on season and hangar conditions.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined aircraft spaces.
- Use of tools, machinery, adhesives, finishes, and other maintenance materials.
- Noise levels consistent with an active aircraft maintenance environment.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in confined aircraft spaces
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods
Travel:
- Occasional travel may be required
Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in aircraft interiors, upholstery, cabinetry, or related technical field preferred
