Position: Snack Bar/Beverage Cart Attendant

Status: Non-Exempt 

Reports to: Director, Food & Beverage and Facilities


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Snack Bar/Beverage Cart Attendant position is responsible for operating the Snack Bar located outside the restaurant and/or driving the beverage cart around the golf course and selling beverages and food to patrons during their rounds of golf. This position is responsible for ensuring the Snack Bar and/or Beverage Cart are stocked every day, operating the point-of-sale system, making sure the Snack Bar and/or Beverage Cart are cleaned at the end of every day, and projecting a professional and friendly attitude. This position will receive general supervision and is expected to work collaboratively with other members of the staff.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete beginning inventory and verify product levels. Stock beverage cart and/or snack bar with all necessary items including beverages, sandwiches, snacks, condiments, paper goods, and ice.
  • Prepare cocktail garnishes, mixers, and basic food ingredients as necessary to support daily service. Set up outside counters, condiment stations, napkins, straws, and cup dispensers.
  • Prepare coffee (regular and decaf) and ensure juice and beverage stations are ready.
  • Prepare and serve food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently in accordance with RBS guidelines. Offer suggestions and actively upsell products.
  • Operate the Point-of-Sale system accurately. Maintain accurate cash handling procedures for every transaction.
  • Greeting guests in a friendly, professional, and outgoing manner. Provide prompt service while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Communicate with staff if assistance or product replenishment is needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of snack bar (interior and exterior), beverage cart, and surrounding areas. Thoroughly clean all service areas and prepare workstations for the next day prior to ending shift, ensuring a fully reset and service-ready environment.
  • Straighten tables and chairs, wipe surfaces, remove trash, and monitor restroom conditions when applicable.
  • Break down beverage cart and snack bar at end of day. Clean and restock all areas; ensure beverage cart is fueled and properly stored.
  • Lock up facility and confirm closing procedures with Manager on Duty.
  • Work cooperatively and respectfully with co-workers. Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.
  • Use initiative to find productive tasks when not actively serving guests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 21 years of age (in order to serve alcohol).
  • California Food Handlers certificate.
  • Responsible Beverage Services (RBS) certificate.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, vendors/suppliers, the general public and other employees of the Company.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, remain up to date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies
  • Working knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems and ten-key (calculator) machine.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Valid drivers license.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Shifts may vary between the hours of 9am and 6pm, depending on the time of year and how busy the course is on a given day.
  • We are searching for someone to work weekdays, weekends, and nights as needed occasionally.
  • Cross-training between snack bar and beverage cart operations is expected.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This is a part-time, Non-Exempt position, with a starting salary of $16.90/hour plus tips. Some clothing will be provided, with the employee expected to source and maintain a high-standard of attire at all times. Participation in the company’s 401k plan after one full year of employment, sick leave, holidays, meals, and golf benefits also included.
