Healthscope NSW - Casual Staffing Team – Undergraduate Assistant in Nursing (AIN)

Are you currently studying within a health related discipline and are looking for direct hospital experience? If you love caring for people, then this is the position for you! Our newly created Healthscope Casual Team is looking to employ UG AINs who will have the ability to work across our Healthscope Hospitals within NSW

This role would be perfect for those students who are studying within the nursing discipline to gain valuable experience within the hospital setting whilst having the flexibility to pick up shifts around your study commitments.

The Casual Staffing Team (Flexi Crew) is led by a dedicated and passionate manager that will encourage and establish opportunities for clinical growth and development within the organisation.

Healthscope’s Casual Staffing team is looking to employ UG AINs that are highly motivated, dedicated to the provision of exceptional customer service and patient care whilst having the flexibility to work across our acute and rehab hospitals within Sydney. We are seeking individuals who are organised, proactive, and resourceful and are willing to excel within the hospital environment.

Our casual staff team will have the opportunity to work varied shifts across the 7 day a week roster across our hospital facilities including:

  • Lady Davidson Private Hospital                                             

  • The Hills Private Hospital                                          

  • Norwest Private Hospital

  • Campbelltown Private Hospital                               

  • Prince of Wales Private Hospital            

  • Nepean Private Hospital                                            

  • Sydney South West Private Hospital

  • The Sydney Clinic    

The undergraduate AIN works in partnership with qualified nurses to provide patient care by assisting them in relation to;

  • Assist nurses or hospital staff in carrying out patient care duties

  • Recording patient vital signs - temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure

  • Personal and oral hygiene and toileting

  • Pressure area care patient turns

  • Feeding / aids the patient in their ability to feed themselves

  • Mobilising and positioning of patients

  • Transfer of patients and equipment

  • Answering patient call bells, redirecting requests / questions as appropriate

  • Providing supervision for wandering / confused patients

  • Other duties as identified

  • Complying with all site WHS policy, infection control standards and policy and procedures

Essential Criteria:

  • Currently studying a Bachelor or Diploma of Nursing

  • High level problem solving skills

  • A willingness to carry out the duties of the AIN in the acute and rehab hospital environment

  • Excellent Customer Service, organisational, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ensure quality service is provided and government regulations are complied with in relation to work health and safety and infection control

  • Ability to work within the multidisciplinary team

  • Flexibility in working hours and location
