About the Role

About the Role

In this individual contributor role, the IT Systems Analyst will serve as an influential intermediary between the assigned business clients and the development and other teams in the IT function and requires a developing knowledge of both environments. The individual contributor will be charged with the following responsibilities:

  • Work directly on smaller projects or as a team member on larger ones.
  • Play an advocacy role for the business clients in all phases of the complex solution development life cycle for each of the critical stages, including initiation, analysis, development, testing, implementation and post implementation follow up.
  • Perform analysis and work closely with the business clients to identify core business issues to map out possible solutions. The mapping is used to develop business cases for action, defining the need, the method, and the benefits of proposed solutions.
  • Undertake complex analysis to develop the detailed user stories or requirements of the solution in order to satisfy the business need.
  • Work closely with Architects and others on the applications development team to refine the solution design, methods and outcomes.
  • Work very closely with the testing team, using the user stories or requirements document as a critical guide, to ensure that issues are identified and fully resolved prior to roll out.

Hybrid - This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with an on–site presence of 2-3 days per week combining flexibility with team collaboration. 

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000.   Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering
  • 3+ years of experience with Java/J2EE in application development
  • 1+ years of experience with Python in application development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Traditional and No-SQL databases
  • Hands-on experience with Shell scripts.
  • Previous Experience with Cloud (Azure) environment setup and understanding of AKS
  • 1+ year of software version management, Git repository, Kubernetes or CI/CD pipeline experience- Expertise in Python based framework like Django, Flask
  • Hands-on experience with AI
  • Knowledge of business and technology practices and trends
  • Ability to gather and analyze information and communicate recommendations to stakeholders
  • Ability to design, code, test, debug and document a large range of technologies and systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and flexible
  • Good interpersonal / relationship management skills, able to foster working relationships within the team, across IT and with business colleagues
  • Exposure to ADO (preferred), Rally or similar Agile backlog management tools
  • A passion for technology 
  • Knowledge and application of various software development life cycles and techniques (e.g., traditional, iterative, agile)
  • Insurance and/or finance experience

Skills

Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of concept and principles of agile methodology; ability to apply appropriate agile approaches in the processes of software development and delivery.

Business Data Analysis: Knowledge of business data analysis; ability to collect, identify, analyze and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements.

Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.

Software Quality Assurance and Testing: Knowledge of software quality assurance and testing; ability to apply appropriate processes, tools, and techniques for assuring a high level of quality in computer software products and systems.

System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.

Technical Writing/Documentation: Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.
