About the Role

Audubon is currently seeking a Crane & Rigging Superintendent to join our team in our Houston, TX Energy Corridor Office.  The Crane & Rigging Superintendent will lead, direct and coordinate the work of ACS trade labor with regard to the Equipment and rigging included in the project. Responsible for ensuring safety, schedule delivery, quality of work performed and adherence to budget of the project. The Crane & Rigging Superintendent has supervisory responsibility for General Foremen, Foremen and trade labor in their area of responsibility. Reports to Project Superintendent or Site Manager.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing and making decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.
  • Managing site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with ACS standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Managing work among assigned trades to promote a coordinated project operation. Resolving local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, adequate labor and equipment, schedule and all other appropriate matters.
  • Supervising and developing General Foremen, Foremen, and/or interns, as assigned, including providing input on or completing performance appraisals.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
  • Creating schedules and determining sequencing of work. Developing and implementing recovery strategies to maintain project schedule and budget.
  • Communicating with owners and engineers in connection with field issues. Investigating and resolving such issues.
  • Managing the weekly progress tracking.
  • Managing the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
  • Responsible for creating lift plans and ensuring the Project has the correctly sized equipment and/or lifting devices.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Project equipment is in proper working order and maintained per the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Reviewing project changes in conjunction with the Project Engineer.
  • Keeping detailed daily records of ACS’s trade contractors' work progress.
  • Participating in preconstruction efforts (e.g. constructability, logistics).

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Confirmed 10+ years of experience in Crane and rigging trade.
  • NCCER Certified Plus (Preferred).
  • The ability to read and interpret field drawings and material takeoffs.
  • Follow established job-site safety and work regulations, as well as maintaining a safe and clean work area. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Specific knowledge of Industrial Lifting Equipment.
  • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards.
  • Good reading comprehension.
  • Ability to work with others – team player.
  • Ability to work independently – minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Commitment to Audubon Construction Solutions, LLC values and safety rules and regulations.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
