Job Summary

As a Production Supervisor at VIRTEX, you will oversee, coordinate, and lead daily production activities across high-reliability electronics manufacturing operations. You are responsible for ensuring manufacturing schedules are achieved safely, efficiently, and in compliance with internal standards and external regulations (including ITAR, AS9100, J-STD-001, IPC, and ESD protocols). You will lead, coach, and develop production teams while fostering a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and accountability


Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Lead daily production operations to achieve quality, schedule, and cost targets in a high-reliability EMS environment.
  • Supervise and develop production personnel, including training, performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action.
  • Enforce compliance with safety rules, ITAR regulations, quality standards (AS9100, ISO), and customer specifications.
  • Manage workflow and labor allocation across PCBA, cable & harness, box build, mechanical assembly, and test operations to meet production commitments.
  • Drive adherence to documented processes and work instructions (SOPs, IPC standards, J-STD-001, IPC-610).
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Test teams to resolve production issues and to support new product introductions (NPI).
  • Facilitate daily shift meetings to communicate production goals, metrics, safety expectations, and continuous improvement focus.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, throughput, on-time delivery, and defect rates to drive operational performance.
  • Support internal and external audits, inspections, and customer visits.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Lean/Six Sigma principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including production output, scrap, downtime, and corrective actions.

Requirements


Education & Qualification

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Electronics Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, IPC, or supervisory training a plus.

Work Experience - Technical knowledge

  • 3+ years in a manufacturing environment with at least 1–2 years supervisory or lead experience, preferably in electronics manufacturing (PCBA, box build, cable harness).
  • Strong understanding of electronics assembly processes, production metrics, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient with manufacturing execution systems (MES/ERP), scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, work instructions, schematics, and inspection criteria.

General Work Conditions

Physical Demand

  • Ability to stand and move on the production floor for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25–40 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/production facility with exposure to machinery, electronics, and assembly equipment.

Safety Requirement

  • Required use of PPE and adherence to ESD safety protocols.
