Description

The National Partnership for Women & Families is a nonprofit, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization that fights for equity for all women and families. The Economic Justice Advocacy Intern will work on challenging projects across the National Partnership's economic justice policy agenda, including paid family and medical leave, paid sick days, fair pay, occupational segregation, pregnancy discrimination and sexual harassment. For this summer, we particularly encourage applications from individuals interested in careers in policy.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing, communication, and computer skills.
  • Research experience of some kind in an academic or professional setting. This could include literature reviews, quantitative or qualitative data analysis, legal research, policy research, or other types of research.
  • Highly organized, attentive to detail, and able to manage multiple tasks for different projects.
  • A commitment to gender and equity, economic justice, and the Partnership’s mission of improving the lives of women and families by achieving equality and equity for all women
  • An understanding of how poverty and racial justice intersect with the Partnership's key issue areas.
  • Seeking a learning opportunity in policy research and advocacy. Must be at least a junior in college as of Fall 2024.

Salary

The internship is paid at the District of Columbia hourly minimum wage rate of $17.95 per hour.
