We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and drive excellence in our manufacturing processes.
The Manufacturing Engineer drives process optimization, quality improvement, and cost reduction across existing and new product lines. This role ensures products are designed and built for manufacturability by leading DFMA initiatives, supporting new product introductions, and driving continuous improvement through root cause analysis and lean methodologies.
Partnering cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain, the Manufacturing Engineer supports ECO implementation, manages BOM and process documentation, oversees compliance requirements, and identifies opportunities to improve yield, productivity, and lead time.
This hands-on role requires strong technical expertise, project leadership experience, and the ability to influence change across the product lifecycle. Your expertise will help ensure our manufacturing facility operates at peak performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Manufacturing Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Provide design for manufacturability review and make recommendations to improve quality while simplifying operations and reducing cost, cycle time, and lead time for existing product lines
- Participate in the Material Review Board, assess and disposition non-conformances, conduct failure analysis, root cause analysis, and provide corrective actions
- Support cost analysis activities, supplier capability assessments and supplier sourcing including make or buy decisions and vertical integration analysis
- Support and analyze NPD processes during pilot runs and mass production
- Monitor and support ECO (Engineering Change Order) implementations for design, process, and parts changes affecting operations
- Lead DFMA and PFMEA efforts at part, assembly, and system levels to improve manufacturing processes and product development
- Collaborate with product engineers, QC, service, and hardware assembly team on issues and improvements related to manufacturing
- Work with supply chain and compliance on RoHS activities and material certifications
- Oversee regulatory compliance manufacturing audits
- Update engineering drawings and process documents in native software as needed
- Creation and maintenance of bill of material, engineering change notices, and process instructions as needed
Requirements
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of five years of experience in Manufacturing engineering related field
- Experience with fabrication and assembly processes, work order creation/management, BOM structures, and quality control
- Understanding of lean manufacturing tools and methodologies
- Ability to understand and utilize CAD, PLM, and ERP software
- Working knowledge designing and improving manufacturing processes, yield and productivity improvements, and cost reductions
- Ability to work independently and drive change in both processes and products
- History leading small or medium sized projects and/or programs
- Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Desire to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team, throughout the development and production phases of the product lifecycle
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and must be able to document, summarize, and present to senior leadership
Physical Requirements: Ability to work in office, lab, and shop floor environment; occasional lifting of up to 25-50lbs; ability to perform testing & evaluation functions in an enclosed environmental chamber.
