SCANNING CLERK JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervisor of the Office Manager, Scanning Clerk is responsible for scanning all patient information into Electronic Medical Record and PM system according to established procedures.
SCANNING CLERK ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for scanning all patient information into Electronic Medical Records
- Maintain high level of confidentiality with patient information
- Scan documents to appropriate encounters/orders/document list within computer system
- Upload documents to specified areas of PM and EMR systems
- Check documents for accuracy and proper placement in EMR systems
- Read incoming material to establish content or title
- Maintain knowledge of all scanning requirements in order to scan documents correctly
- Communicate with supervisors, managers, providers to complete tasks accurately and in timely manner
- Retrieve, sort, and scan documents in appropriate files
- Adherence of hospital tracking protocol and workflows
- Contribute ideas/solutions for process quality improvements
- Sort material in accordance with filing system used
- Review and understand the document appropriately to determine which folder the document to be scanned.
- Perform other duties and assist in department projects as assigned
SCANNING CLERK EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- High School graduate or GED preferred.
SCANNING CLERK PAY RATE: $21/hr

- Excellent command of the alpha numeric system.

SCANNING CLERK PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position requires prolonged sitting at a computer, some bending, lifting, stooping and stretching. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard, photocopy machine, telephone, and other office equipment is also required. Employee must have normal range of hearing and eyesight.
