MHC has an immediate full-time opening (Thursday night into Friday morning, Friday night into Saturday morning, Saturday night into Sunday morning, and Sunday night into Monday morning; Friday - Monday:12:00 am - 8:00 am) for a Residential Specialist I within our Transitional/Respite program in the Torrington area. The Residential Specialist I is responsible for coordinating the needs of the individual with the services available to them. The Residential Specialist I also documents and delivers services to persons in recovery in the activities outlined in their Individual Recovery Plans.


Salary: $20.00 per hour. MHC is currently paying a shift differential of $1.00 per hour worked between 12:00 am - 8:00 am in addition to the hourly salary rate. MHC offers a competitive benefit package which includes:

Requirements

The Residential Specialist I responsibilities include:

  • Engage with persons in recovery to assure they participate in programs and activities.
  • Document all activities, communications, and encounters with individuals in recovery according to service contract and MHC requirements.
  • Orient individuals to the program available to them.
  • Responsible for maintaining specific activity and progress reports.
  • Teach and assist Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
  • Monitor the safety of individuals in recovery in their residences through proper supervision of the sites ensuring the maintenance of safe and healthy facilities.
  • Provide emergent program site coverage when necessary. May be mandated to remain on site or to report beyond scheduled hours to provide essential coverage.

Education and/or Experience:

  • GED or High School Diploma required.
  • Experience in community mental health preferred.
