About the Role

Description

Saw Operators are responsible for operating and maintaining saw equipment to cut metal materials according to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate various types of saws (e.g., band saws, circular saws) to cut metal materials to specified dimensions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine cutting requirements.
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using measuring tools.
  • Inspect materials for defects and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a saw operator or in a similar role in a metal fabrication shop.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Previous overhead crane experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in cutting.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials.
