Summary: Manually weld materials and components to specification


Essential Function:

  • Set up and manually operate weld machine 
  • Perform welding processes on materials including mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
  • Use weld fixtures, gauges, and jigs when appropriate
  • Produce production parts as per specified requirements
  • Operate forklift, pallet jack, hoist or crane to move product
  • Perform quality inspection to ensure parts are produced to specification
  • Adhere to business management system (BMS), as applicable
  • Assist with any other duties as assigned


Requirements

Basic Requirements:

Knowledge of MIG/TIG/Resistance welding principles 

General manufacturing experience and knowledge of different materials

Basic to intermediate math, computer, and written/verbal communication skills

Knowledge of welding machine adjustments

General knowledge of grinders, power tools, and other small hand tools, including tape measure and caliper

Read and understand prints, weld symbols, process sheets, and other documents


Physical Exposure:

Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, and lifting

Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs

Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs

Grinding sparks and dust

Oils/solvents on materials 

Exposure to weld flash and smoke

Sharp edges on parts or material 

Fork truck traffic
