About The Company
Norfolk Hardware and Home Center has been serving the Boston area since 1934. We began as a small hardware store and home center located on Norfolk Street in Mattapan. Founded by Ben and Lena Rosen, the store was named after Norfolk Street and began by selling plumbing supplies. As their customers requested additional products, the store expanded to carry paint, then window treatments, then building materials. Today we are a lot larger than we were in 1934. Norfolk Hardware currently occupies a building in Boston with over 40,000 square feet of retail, showroom and warehouse space. This large size right in Boston gives us the ability to have millions of dollars of inventory in stock at all times. Today, Norfolk Hardware is part of the Norfolk Companies, and owned by the same family, and has over 150 employees. We have tens of thousands of customers ranging from retail homeowners, to commercial contractors, housing authorities and property management companies. Norfolk Hardware began to sell kitchen cabinets in the early 1980s. That new product category proved to be a very important step in our company’s growth. Kitchen cabinets and countertops became a large part of our sales and today we have 5 Norfolk Kitchen and Bath showrooms located in Boston, Braintree, Nashua NH, Manchester NH, and Salem NH. We also have our own countertop shop that supplies many of the projects we sell. Combined with Norfolk Hardware and Home Center, our company employs over 150 local, hardworking people and does business all over New England, reaching all over the East Coast. Norfolk Hardware and Home Center. Big enough to serve you, small enough to know you.
About the Role

Description

Norfolk Hardware & Home Center is a trusted local resource for homeowners, contractors, and DIY enthusiasts. We're proud to carry Benjamin Moore paint — one of the most respected brands in the industry — and we're looking for a knowledgeable Paint Sales Specialist to join our team. A significant part of our business serves professional paint contractors, and we're looking for someone who understands their world and can build lasting relationships with them.

The Role

As our Paint Sales Specialist, you'll be the go-to expert for customers navigating color selection, product recommendations, and paint solutions for their projects. You'll combine your deep knowledge of Benjamin Moore products with a consultative sales approach to deliver an outstanding customer experience — whether you're helping a homeowner pick the perfect color or making sure a contractor's order is ready to go before their crew hits the job site.

What You'll Do

  • Guide customers through color selection and help them choose the right products and tools for their complete paint project
  • Develop and grow relationships with professional paint contractors, becoming their trusted supplier of choice
  • Understand contractor needs — job timelines, volume requirements, product preferences and deliver proactive, reliable service
  • Mix, tint, and match paint accurately and efficiently
  • Drive paint department sales by building relationships with both residential and professional customers
  • Stay current on Benjamin Moore product lines, promotions, and new offerings
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked paint department
  • Process contractor orders accurately and ensure timely fulfillment

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in paint sales or a paint department retail environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Benjamin Moore products (required)
  • Experience working with professional paint contractors is a strong plus
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to operate paint mixing and tinting equipment
  • A passion for helping customers bring their vision to life
  • Self-motivated with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Availability to work a full-time schedule including weekend hours

Why Norfolk Hardware & Home Center?

  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience
  • A supportive, team-oriented environment
  • Local, family-owned company serving the community for 92 years
  • The opportunity to work with a premium product line and a loyal, growing contractor customer base

If you're a paint sales professional who loves helping people — from weekend DIYers to busy painting crews — and knows Benjamin Moore inside and out, we'd love to hear from you.
