About the Role

Description

 The Director of information technology is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions for the company. This includes directing all IT operations to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.


Essential Functions:

  1. Analyzes complex business needs to be presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends technical solutions.
  2. Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
  3. Directs operations in executing production tasks according to a documented schedule that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  4. Produces a detailed timeline for each application release and implements effective project control by monitoring the progress of the software release and reporting the status.
  5. Directs and prioritizes the workload of subordinate personnel.
  6. Reviews all designs, code and unit test plans where applicable.
  7. Approves all business requirements prior to the technical solution.
  8. Participates on all hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contracts.
  9. Represents the IT function at business review meetings when appropriate.
  10. Directs education programs for her/his staff.
  11. Perform liaison duties between users, operations, and programming personnel in the areas of systems design, modifications or troubleshooting.
  12. Performs salary administration and conducts interviews and makes recommendations for new hires, consultants and/or replacement personnel.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Knowledge of AWS, Cloud Computing, Cost estimating.
  2. At least 5 years of ERP experience (Fulfil.io a plus).
  3. At least 5 years in Omni environment (retail, wholesale, online).
  4. At least 5 years in Network Management, Security.
  5. At least 5 years in Contract negotiations/Vendor management. 
  6. Executive interactions/negotiations with SVP, EVP, C-level executives 
  7. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, information services or related field, or CNE certification. 
  8. Five years of experience in a large local area network environment designing and analyzing network systems.
  9. Knowledge of hardware and software installation, testing, and operation; knowledge of the application of computer software for automating highly diverse agency/organization activities.
  10. Capability and capacity of various software products/communication utilities.
  11. Knowledge of the principles of data communications and telecommunications.
  12. Knowledge of micro/mini/mainframe computer operating systems.
  13. Knowledge of local area network concepts and fundamentals.
  14. Knowledge of teleprocessing and telecommunications architecture.
  15. Shopify experience a plus.
  16. O365 experience a plus.
  17. Experience in high growth companies.
