SHINE Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain production methods for manufacturing components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies for neutron generator and particle accelerator related capital equipment. Leads the engineering function during the release of new products. The Manufacturing Engineer identifies manufacturing improvement opportunities, determines requirements to implement, and recommends tooling/process needs for new and existing product lines. The Manufacturing Engineer maintains drawings, records, and reporting systems for operations and service activities.
The base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop processes, work instructions, & quality records for assembly & test for assigned projects.
- Specify and procure tooling, fixtures, and software for operations processes.
- Design and build custom tooling and fixtures as needed.
- Manage the release of products into manufacturing.
- Provide technical support for production by responding to line disruptions and resolving quality issues.
- Participate in supplier assessment and corrective actions as applicable to improve quality of incoming materials.
- Work with suppliers to ramp up production of parts and to resolve issues on existing items.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve the quality & efficiency of operations.
- Provide production input to cross-functional teams ensuring new products and product improvements can be produced efficiently.
- Ensure Bill of Materials (BOM) are complete, accurate, and structured appropriately for operations and service activities.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflows, space requirements, and equipment layouts.
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience is preferred.
- Effective problem solving, judgment, and independent thinking skills for troubleshooting, repair, and recognition of acceptable or unacceptable product quality.
- Experience with electro-mechanical assembly & troubleshooting.
- Ability to work with electronic & mechanical test equipment.
- Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to train personnel on production procedures.
- Able to quickly assess assigned task requirements, identify potential challenges, and communicate effectively to expedite the successful execution of assigned work.
- Experience in:
- Flow charting and workflow mapping.
- SolidWorks or similar applications is desired.
- Understanding electrical schematics and good wiring practices, including IPC standards for cable and wiring assemblies, is desired.
- Product and process development.
- Development of manufacturing tools and fixtures.
- Good engineering practices including documentation, GD&T, change control, product structure, and bills of materials.
- Vacuum components, high voltage systems, plasma, and rigging are all strong pluses.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
