About the Role

ABOUT THE ROLE
A high growth U.S.-based F&B franchise is seeking a Senior Accountant to work with the CFO & VP of Finance take ownership of recurring finance operations, reporting, and data workflows across its 200+ franchise business. This role is designed to remove manual, repeatable finance work from senior leaders and introduce more consistency, structure, and scalability into reporting and finance processes.

Remote (Philippines-based) | Full-time (40 hours/week) | U.S. PST hours or significant overlap

Salary: $1500, Negotiable based on experience

Dependable and detail-oriented finance professional with strong Excel and accounting skills, adept at improving processes, managing recurring workstreams, and working independently with clear communication. Motivated to streamline workflows and ensure accuracy in financial data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reporting & Data Ownership
    • Own preparation of weekly and monthly Excel sales reports, pulling data from QuickBooks, POS/ops systems, and delivery platforms
    • Consolidate multiple data sources into standardized Excel workbooks used by leadership
    • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency
  • Franchisee Financial Review & Normalization
    • Independently manage the intake and organization of 200+ franchisee P&Ls annually
    • Apply normalization rules to identify and flag non-standard or misclassified expenses
    • Maintain clear documentation for exceptions, trends, and follow-ups
    • Escalate anomalies with context and recommendations, not just raw data
    • Comfort emailing / interacting with franchisees and business owners directly to understand anomalies and make recommendations on how to adjust the P&L to achieve comparability
  • Finance Operations & Administrative Execution
    • Serve as the point person for recurring finance admin tasks tied to reporting and close preparation (Quickbooks, POS, Ops System, Excel)
    • Support franchise royalty fee workflows, tracking inputs and ensuring accurate execution
    • Complete finance-related administrative requests (insurance forms, compliance documentation, ad-hoc reporting) with minimal oversight
  • Systems, Tools & Process Improvement
    • Help onboard and manage finance and sales tax software (Avalara) 
    • Improve organization’s use of Concur expense management software by connecting credit card provider data with Concur
    • Identify opportunities to streamline manual workflows and reduce repetitive work
    • Create and maintain simple SOPs for recurring finance processes

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working with U.S. restaurant / F&B operators
  • Familiarity with sales tax software (ideally Avalara)
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks
  • Curiosity about AI (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) and desire to experiment with AI in day-to-day work
  • Licensed CPA

  • 2+ years of experience with accounting, finance, banking, or bookkeeping (or BPO experience supporting those industries)
  • 2+ years experience in financial reporting, financial operations, and FP&A roles (U.S. companies preferred)
  • Expert Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data cleaning/merging, data validation)
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, especially P&Ls
  • Strong proficiency in English (at least C1 level), with excellent written communication skills
  • Self-starter with creating net-new processes and automations
  • Intense attention to detail
  • Exceptionally organized, proactive, and capable of driving tasks to completion with minimal supervision
  • Bachelor Degree or higher (summa, magna or cum laude and/or Academic Scholar from a reputable college preferred)
