We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences:
The appointee will assist the Prof. Derwin Chan in the research projects related to physical activity, health psychology, and health education. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
Delivering and coordinating mental health workshops at schools or other health settings;
Conducting questionnaire survey and interviews;
Data entry and/or transcribing interview data;
Providing support in literature review and data analysis;
Writing academic reports;
Assisting the Principal Investigator and Co-investigators to prepare experiments;
Liaising with academic staff, student helpers, schools/ NGOs, and other relevant parties;
Providing ad hoc research duties on some weekends/public holidays/weekday evenings; and
Performing any other duties as assigned to support the operation of the research projects.
A recognised degree in psychology, social sciences, sports sciences, or health-related subjects;
Appointee in the rank of Research Assistant I should hold at least a Master degree in relevant subjects
Experience in carrying out quantitative and qualitative research;
Competence in computer skills (MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint, and other data analytical software);
Detail-oriented, responsible, and self-motivated;
A high level of English and Chinese (Cantonese) proficiency and effective communication and organisation skills;
Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet multiple deadlines; and
Candidates who have experience in academic writing and publishing scientific papers are highly suitable for the position.
