Part-Time Research Assistant I (Psychology of Sports, Exercise, and Health) (A&SS)

The appointee will assist the Prof. Derwin Chan in the research projects related to physical activity, health psychology, and health education. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

• Delivering and coordinating mental health workshops at schools or other health settings;

• Conducting questionnaire survey and interviews;

• Data entry and/or transcribing interview data;

• Providing support in literature review and data analysis;

• Writing academic reports;

• Assisting the Principal Investigator and Co-investigators to prepare experiments;

• Liaising with academic staff, student helpers, schools/ NGOs, and other relevant parties;

• Providing ad hoc research duties on some weekends/public holidays/weekday evenings; and

• Performing any other duties as assigned to support the operation of the research projects.

   

• A recognised degree in psychology, social sciences, sports sciences, or health-related subjects; 

  • Appointee in the rank of Research Assistant I should hold at least a Master degree in relevant subjects

• Experience in carrying out quantitative and qualitative research;

• Competence in computer skills (MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint, and other data analytical software);

• Detail-oriented, responsible, and self-motivated;

• A high level of English and Chinese (Cantonese) proficiency and effective communication and organisation skills;

• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet multiple deadlines; and

• Candidates who have experience in academic writing and publishing scientific papers are highly suitable for the position.
