About the Role

Create is hiring a Director, Operations Strategy to lead high impact strategic initiatives across our operations function. This role will take end to end ownership of projects that improve cost structure, simplify complexity, strengthen systems, and increase operational performance. You will operate as an internal strategy partner embedded within Operations, driving structured analysis and disciplined execution across cross functional teams.

In this role, you’ll identify and size opportunities, build financial models, create clear execution plans, and drive initiatives through completion with minimal oversight. You will work closely with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and company leadership to ensure projects are analytically grounded, financially sound, and operationally executable. If you enjoy solving ambiguous problems, building structure where none exists, and delivering measurable operational impact, this role is for you.

  • Lead Strategic Operations Initiatives: Own end to end execution of high priority operations projects, including cost savings initiatives, process redesign efforts, systems implementations, and sustaining operational improvements. Define scope, build workplans, drive timelines, and ensure delivery against defined objectives.
  • Operate as Embedded Strategy Partner: Partner closely with the VP, Operations and leadership team to evaluate new opportunities, pressure test assumptions, and bring analytical rigor to strategic decisions. Escalate risks early and drive alignment across stakeholders.
  • Drive Cost and Complexity Improvement: Identify and size opportunities to improve COGS, simplify SKU portfolio, and reduce operational complexity. Build financial models to quantify savings and tradeoffs and translate analysis into executable plans.
  • Own Systems and Process Redesign: Lead implementation of new operational systems and redesign of core workflows to improve visibility, accountability, and scalability. Translate business needs into structured requirements and ensure disciplined execution.
  • Improve Inventory and Working Capital Strategy: Drive cross functional initiatives that improve inventory efficiency and working capital performance while protecting service levels. Quantify impact and align recommendations with Finance and Operations leadership.

Who You Are:
  • Strategic Operations Experience: 5+ years of experience in consulting, startup operations, private equity portfolio operations, or related roles with ownership of cross functional initiatives.
  • Advanced Financial Modeling: Strong ability to build detailed financial models and ROI analyses to support operational decision making.
  • Structured Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to own complex projects end to end with minimal oversight, driving clear timelines, deliverables, and accountability across functions.
  • Analytical Rigor: Highly analytical and structured thinker who can break down ambiguous problems into clear workstreams and decisions.
  • Systems and Process Orientation: Experience improving operational systems or redesigning workflows to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Cross Functional Influence: Ability to work across Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and leadership teams to drive aligned execution.
  • Executive Communication: Comfortable presenting structured analyses and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Competitive compensation including salary and equity (150k+ base)
  • Fully-paid health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Downtown Manhattan office, with flexible work setup and 15 days of PTO
