About The Role:

As the State Sales Manager, you will lead the sales performance and customer growth strategy for your State Distribution Centre while ensuring strong operational alignment and delivery.

Reporting to the General Manager - Sales, you will be accountable for achieving sales budgets, driving profitable growth, improving market share, and fostering a high-performance, customer-first culture.
 

This is a leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen, industry engagement, and the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own and deliver state sales budgets and P&L performance.

  • Lead and develop Territory Managers and Customer Service teams to achieve sales targets.

  • Build strong customer and industry relationships to grow market share.

  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure seamless customer onboarding and service delivery.

  • Identify market trends and growth opportunities to support strategic decisions.

  • Champion sales training, compliance, WHS standards, and effective use of business systems.

  • Provide leadership support across the State Distribution Centre as required, including national travel.

  • Proven sales leadership experience within automotive, industrial distribution, or related sectors.

  • Proven success delivering state sales budgets, revenue growth, and gross profit targets with full P&L accountability.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and performance-manage Territory Managers to exceed targets and grow market share.

  • Strong commercial acumen across key account management, new business development, and contract negotiation.

  • Data-driven leader who leverages sales KPIs, pipeline reporting, and performance metrics to drive results.
