University Physicians' Association (UPA) is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our University GYN/Oncology team located within the UT Medical Center Cancer Institute. What You’ll Do:
Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Provide telephone triage using strong critical-thinking skills and communicate findings and interventions to providers.
- Partner closely with advanced practice providers and physicians to address patient and family needs.
- Deliver patient education and ensure the clinic is adequately supplied and prepared.
Care Coordination
- Document all care in the electronic medical record accurately and thoroughly.
- Support providers with referrals, orders, and overall coordination of care.
- Perform medication reconciliation, manage refills, and educate patients on oncology medications.
- Communicate with pharmacies and insurance companies, including completing prior authorizations.
- Maintain provider schedules and assist with patient flow.
Cross-Department Collaboration
Coordinate care with various departments within the Cancer Institute, including:
- Chemotherapy Infusion
- Nurse Navigators
- Radiation Oncology
- Palliative Care
- Surgical Oncology
- Clinical Trials
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all handling of medical records.
- Review lab results with patients, complete genetic testing, assist with forms, and coordinate home health, hospice, oxygen setup, hospital admissions, and outpatient transfusions.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Participate in ongoing education and departmental quality-improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- Current Tennessee RN license
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Oncology experience preferred
- Current BLS certification
