The Production Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and cost targets are achieved. This role leads supervisors and frontline employees, coordinates with maintenance and quality teams, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery goals.
- Develop and manage production schedules.
- Monitor KPI’s (Safety, productivity, downtime, scrap).
- Ensure adherence to company policies and operating procedures.
- Supervise production supervisors and shift leads.
- Hire, train, coach, and evaluate production staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Promote and enforce workplace safety standards.
- Ensure products meet quality standards.
- Optimize equipment and material usage.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- Equivalent experience considered.
- 3-5 years of production or manufacturing leadership experience.
- 2+ years in a supervisory or superintendent-level role.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems and ERPs
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
