Description
CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a full-time Resource Specialist. The Resource Specialist assists members in identifying and obtaining various financial, health care, educational and other pertinent resources; provides community resource information and make appropriate referrals and follow up on referrals and provide any other referrals needed by the community.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Assist individuals identifying and obtaining various financial, health care, educational and other pertinent resources.
- Help individuals complete applications for Medicaid, social security cards, birth certificates, and other documents.
- Provide peer-based support to individuals promoting independence and fostering recovery.
- Continuously researches and tracks available community-based services and programs.
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00am-5:30pm & Tuesday, Thursday 10:30am-7:00pm
Full-time | Benefit Eligible (Medical, free DMO dental & free vision) including 6 weeks PTO & 11 Holidays
Requirements
- High School diploma / GED with relevant work experience or
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health discipline.
- Highly organized with proven ability to manage time efficiently in fast-paced environments.
- Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to foster meaningful, respectful connections.
- Knowledge of wellness, the mental health system and community resources.
- Demonstrates openness in sharing their recovery journey and experiences with mental health and/or addiction services.
- Make and maintain contacts and positive relationships with individuals who receive or have received mental health and/or substance abuse services.
- Ability to effectively engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses through empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and have strong computer skills.
- Bilingual skills are a plus!
- MUST have a valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
