Job Title: Associate Director- Community Based Services
Department: Economic and Community Based Services
FLSA Status: Exempt
Hours/Weeks: Full Year, Full Time
Hiring Range: $67,000.00 - $72,000.00

SUMMARY:
The Associate Director plays an integral role in leading our Community Based Services Department. The Associate Director provides strategic leadership and ensures successful supervision of designated staff. The Associate Director assists the Director in operating the Commuinty Based Services Department specifically regarding community engagement and the provision of high-quality services to participants in need of access to housing, food, clothing and other concrete supports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Management and oversight of department budgets under supervision of the Program Director
- Delegates appropriate responsibilities to staff.
- Site Management of multiple work sites
- Ensuring all required documents (i.e. information and referrals, outcomes, and barriers to accessing services) on required forms are complete, accurate, and up-to-date
- Integrates new information about community needs into the department’s mission
- Ensures completion of necessary grant reports in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with grant requirements
- Utilizes data to inform programmatic decision-making
- Assists in developing projects and programs by exploring grant funding options
- Prepare appropriate grant applications and oversee development of related program contracts
- Attend and participate in staff, agency, and service provider meetings deemed necessary for job performance.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a work culture that fosters NEKCA’s Core Values in your work environment.
- Develop a clear vision for the team's work and align it with NEKCA's mission and strategic goals.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate time entries for all staff
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of invoices, employee reimbursements, staffing changes, and credit card receipt submission
- Review and approve transactions in a timely manner
- Directly provides support and supervision of staff and programmatic guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Conducts annual written evaluations of all staff that assess performance.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with NEKCA policy.
- Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities to ensure best practices.
- Initiates appropriate action plans to ensure staff work in a safe working environment.
- Actively listen to employees and stakeholders to address their concerns and input while leading staff to self-reflect and develop goals.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to help employees grow and succeed.
- Lead teams through periods of change and uncertainty.
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently while ensuring financial sustainability.
- Collaborate and integrate across programs and departments.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and funders.
- Understanding grant requirements and maintaining accurate files and records accordingly.
- Ensure that NEKCA adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Utilize reflective practices in support of staff as they work with participants.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with colleagues at NEKCA to promote agency standards and to further the mission/ strategic plan of NEKCA.
- Collaborates regularly with Associate Director of Housing and Homeless Services in the provision of housing support services across the NEK.
- Able to work independently and as part of a larger team.
- Directs an array of programming directed at providing support to individuals and families needing access to housing, food, clothing and basic needs services.
- Engages in events throughout the NEK (possibly after normal work hours or on weekends) to promote NEKCA programming and services.
- Engages with community partners to establish and maintain positive relationships to support NEKCA participants.
- Works closely with state-wide partners to advocate for and uphold programming.
- Supervises staff and volunteers across the NEK, specifically overseeing some housing staff, food programming staff/ volunteers and See More Thrift Store volunteers.
- Oversees Community Bases Service volunteer base and supports the process necessary for operating programming.
- Works with Program Director to support the authoring of grant funding.
- Utilizing multiple systems, oversees the timely submission of all data and grant reports as required by the grantors.

- Must have knowledge of basic computer skills and record keeping, including spreadsheet applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and database management systems.
- This position is considered a mandated reporter.
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-initiated, may need to work flexible hours (program dependent)

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employees in this position work primarily in an office environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperature conditions. The work involves sitting for extended periods of time, using a computer and other office equipment, and may require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Position has occasionally bending, stooping, or reaching for items. Standing or moving around the office area.
