About the Role

Description

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for assisting Maintenance Mechanics in trouble shooting, repair and maintaining machinery, pneumatics, hydraulics, drive lines, and mechanical equipment, moving equipment, and/or general building and grounds maintenance.

Essential Duties:

  • Carries tools and equipment to and from storage and working areas.
  • Uses forklifts to transport equipment and machinery.
  • Drills and breaks up concrete.
  • Disassemble a wide variety of production or office equipment.
  • Replaces worn or defective parts, reassembles, and adjusts for proper function.
  • Performs work involving general maintenance operations requiring a degree of skill and knowledge of mechanical principles, machining practices, general constructions, and grounds maintenance.
  • Answers trouble calls and refers to maintenance mechanic as needed.
  • Regular and consistent job attendance required, with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with the ADA.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, basic blueprints, and schematics.
  • Experience in driving a forklift.
  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience and knowledge of mechanical principles
  • Ability to determine and resolve basic mechanical issues.
  • Ability to work in a warm or cold environment.

Education/Experience:

2 years or more mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
