Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Operations Engineer for our hazardous chemical waste treatment facility in Singapore to grow with us.

 

Job Description:

  • Monitor and supervise the operations team to ensure all EHS and production goals are met, provide guidance and advice for corrective action in the event of any plant upsets or hiccups which include conducting investigation/troubleshooting.

  • Monitor the performance of the production processes:

    • Develop and manage the OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) framework.

    • Be knowledgeable on how to achieve operating targets and strategies (KPI).

    • Lead the operating team to achieve those results.

  • Take the lead in operational improvement/modification initiatives. This includes MOC implementation, design review, commissioning new facilities and lead Pre-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR).

  • Prepare and track monthly operating  expense budgets (reagents, consumables, etc.) and ensure cost-effective management of these operational budgets.

  • Collaborate with other departments to minimise equipment downtime through effective handover planning, including for plant shutdowns and turnarounds.

  • Review and update operational work processes, support and lead the continuous improvement projects,  i.e. risk assessment (RA), standard operating procedure (SOP).

  • Support any other activities and initiatives as delegated by Operations Manager.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering. Additional qualification in Process Control is a bonus.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical, refinery, power plant, waste to energy, or environmental process operations. Incumbents with 2nd grade Steam Boiler Engineer Certification have an added advantage.

  • Good working knowledge of the chemical and thermal process units and an understanding of combustion systems / furnaces , process control, safety systems is a bonus.

  • In-depth knowledge of chemical processes, operations, and safety protocols with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to effectively diagnose and resolve operational upsets.

  • Able to work independently and in a team to achieve the departmental goal of lean production.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong collaboration abilities.

 

Additional Information

Notes:

  • Incumbents with relevant experience may be considered for the Deputy Operations Manager role.

  • Due to Work Pass quota issue, incumbents without the need for Work Pass application will be prioritised for the recruitment.

  • Incumbents must be willing to work in Tuas South Vicinity with transport provided (to & fro) at Boon Lay MRT and Choa Chu Kang MRT.
