Job Description
Your Opportunity
We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our Acquiring Services Domain.
In this role, you’ll leverage your technical skills to develop, maintain, and support innovative solutions that solve real-world challenges in the payments industry. From designing and building scalable systems to ensuring seamless integration with key technologies, your work will directly impact millions of users.
You’ll also make an impact by:
- Design Solutions: Develop and maintain scalable pipelines. Ensure systems are designed for extensibility, are robust, and can handle large volumes of data efficiently.
- Data Integration: Integrating data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency. Work on data transformation, processing, and loading to support analytics and business intelligence needs.
- Performance Optimisation: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within the Databricks environment, including optimizing the data ingestion processes and ensuring efficient data querying.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet those needs. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers.
- Innovation and Improvement: Continuously explore new data technologies and methodologies. Implement best practices for data engineering in partnership with our Data practice.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data workflows, architectures, and best practices. Ensure that all data processes are well documented and reproducible.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- 4+ years of experience building and managing large data platform environments in the cloud.
- Strong knowledge of Cloud AWS platform/applications.
- SAP Business Objects Data Services: Experienced in creating ETL jobs and reverse engineering existing ones.
- SAP Business Objects Business Intelligence: Strong design skills in Universe design and Crystal Reports 2016, with basic knowledge of WebI reports.
- Oracle Stored Procedures: Skilled at understanding complex logic within stored procedures used for summary data in reporting.
- Databricks Data Pipeline Design: Proficient in Apache Spark and Delta Lake, with strong Python and SQL skills, and a thorough understanding of the Databricks platform, including notebooks, workflows, and the Medallion Architecture.
You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:
- Experience in the financial services or payments sector.
- Experience working within PCI-DSS compliant environment.
