Requirements
Education & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MEMBER ACCOUNT SPECIALIST
Member Service
- Communicate effectively with prospective and current members and represent the credit union positively and professionally
- Open new accounts
- Set up new account files and provide members with all the necessary information for membership including IRA Accounts, Trust Accounts and professional accounts
- Research account discrepancies and assist members in balancing their accounts
- Provide support on the teller line
Service Selling
- Promote, explain, and cross-sell other credit union services such as electronic services, debit cards and credit cards
- Provide information on investment alternatives to deposit funds with the credit union
- Look for opportunities to improve members’ financial well-being including loan referrals to a lending employee
Technical Skills
- Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of credit union products and on all related policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including robbery procedures
