Position Summary:
IT Healthcare Application Administrator manages, maintains, and supports clinical or administrative software to ensure secure and efficient operations. Managing user access, system updates, troubleshooting, data integrity, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. This role requires strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, database management, and analytical reporting to support patient care and operational workflows.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Application Management: Supporting, configuring, and updating Electronic Health Records (EHR) and related clinical/administrative software.
- User Support & Security: Managing user accounts, permissions, and security controls while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Resolving system issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
- Data & Reporting: Extracting, transforming, and analyzing data to create dashboards and reports for clinical or administrative use.
- System Upgrades: Implementing software patches and participating in system upgrades or migrations.
- Works on Helpdesk related projects as assigned by supervisor.
- Work with external vendors and support teams to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of EHR platforms and database technologies.
- Understand basic networking
- Ability to support and troubleshoot Windows10/11, Server 2016 & newer
- Healthcare Compliance: Understanding of HIPAA and data security standards.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to build performance metrics and dashboards.
- Must be able to learn and support new and quickly-changing technologies.
- Ability to research solutions or information regarding technical issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to provide effective phone, desk-side, and email support.
- Familiarity with a wide range of standard office automation products.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in IT, Healthcare Administration or related field and 3-5+ years of experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to use a keyboard to enter and retrieve data.
Must have good eyesight to view computer monitor and phone.
Lifting and/or carrying of 15-30 lbs. or more and the pushing and pulling of carts when necessary
