Full-time 


Anticipated days and hours: 

 

40 hours a week: Thursday-Monday

Thursday: 5 hours: i.e., 9 am to 2 pm or 10 am to 3 pm 

Friday: 10 hours:  i.e., 7:30 am to 5:30 pm 

Saturday: 10 hours:  i.e., 7:30 am to 5:30 pm 

Sunday: 10 hours:  i.e., 7:30 am to 5:30 pm 

Monday: 5 hours:  i.e., 9 am to 2 pm or 10 am to 3 pm

Our new assessment center will increase testing opportunities, improve standardization, and incorporate cutting-edge technology, ensuring that future chiropractors are fully prepared to serve patients with skill, integrity, and excellence.


Headquartered in Greeley, Colorado, (NBCE) is the international testing organization for the chiropractic profession, with the mission of ensuring professional competency and public safety through excellence in testing. Established in 1963, NBCE develops, administers, and scores standardized examinations for candidates seeking chiropractic licensure in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and in several international countries. 


ROLE SUMMARY:

The Standardized Patient Specialist (SPS) is responsible for supervising and scheduling the Standardized Patient Educator (SPE), and the Standardized Patients (SPs) and Technique Patients (TPs) used in high-stakes clinical skills assessments. The SPS will timely communicate with SPs and TPs and ensure appropriate coverage to support smooth assessment center operations, examination integrity, and a positive patient experience. The SPS will also assist in the recruitment, selection, and ongoing development of SPs and TPs to ensure a quality, skilled, and reliable pool of participants. This role requires a high level of professionalism, reliability, and discretion in a high-stakes exam environment. 


OVERVIEW OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


Recruitment and Onboarding 

· Participate in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding SPs and TPs. 

· Assist in screening SP’s performance to ensure baseline competencies. 

· Assist in identifying SPs, based on case criteria, for cases portrayed during examinations. 


Supervising

· Supervise, coach, and counsel the SPE, SPs, and TPs. Maintain appropriate documentation regarding work performance and work habits. Work with the department manager and Human Resources on any formal disciplinary actions. 

· Assist in the ongoing development of SPs and TPs, coordinating with the Standardized Patient Educator (SPE) and department manager, and providing feedback to SPs and TPs as needed.

· Maintain confidential staff, compensation, and payroll records.


Scheduling and Staffing

· Develop and maintain the scheduling calendar for SPs and TPs across training sessions and simulation events, as applicable. Schedule SPs according to their suitability for specific case portrayals as communicated by the SPE or department manager.

· Clearly communicate training schedules, simulation events, case assignments, and exam schedules to SPs and TPs.

· Track SP and TP availability, conflicts, cancellations, and update schedules accordingly. Ensure appropriate patient coverage for all rooms and sessions, including any necessary backup and contingency planning.

· Coordinate with the SPE and department manager regarding schedule changes, absences, and staffing needs. This includes last-minute adjustments and replacements, as needed, to ensure full event coverage.


Timekeeping and Payroll

· Ensure staff review and approve their timecards prior to approving them. 

· Review the electronic timecards of staff for accuracy and completeness.

· Submit payroll accurately and timely, following all NBCE policies and procedures.

· Track and review overtime hours and ensure overtime is not worked unless pre-approved.

· Review and approve time off. Promptly notify Human Resources of any absences for which staff may qualify under NBCE’s leave policies or disability benefits.

· Respond to all staff’s pay-related inquiries and resolve any payroll discrepancies in a prompt and professional manner.


Operational and Exam Support

· Assist with logistical planning and exam day coordination, ensuring SPs and TPs are scheduled and exams run smoothly.

· Serve as the primary scheduling point of contact for SPs and TPs before and during exam sessions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


Education & Experience


· Associate’s degree in business administration, education, communications, or related field or 2 + years of equivalent work experience.

· At least two (2) years of supervisory experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong organizational, scheduling, and attention-to-detail skills and abilities.

· Proven ability to coach and provide constructive feedback.

· Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with Examinees and the SPE, SPs, TPs, and other NBCE staff.  

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· A commitment to maintain confidentiality and security standards.

· Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

· Ability to become part of an effective team. 

· Ability to work required weekends, with flexibility to work during the week as needed.

· Valid Colorado driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.

· Legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Prior experience in scheduling and event coordination.

· Prior use of scheduling software and/or HRIS systems.

COMPENSATION


Hiring Range: $32.20 – $38.64 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
