Heartline Staffing, strategic talent partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Services to provide operational and clinical leadership for a high-volume Emergency Department network.
The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for the overall performance, staffing, budgeting, and strategic direction of Emergency Services, including a main Emergency Department and multiple freestanding emergency departments. This leader fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth while ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
This role leads emergency department operations, throughput optimization, quality initiatives, workforce development, and the successful integration of new graduate nurses into a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The Director partners closely with executive leadership to support facility objectives, service line growth, and continuous improvement.
Schedule:
Full-time leadership role
Primarily day schedule with executive responsibilities
Compensation:
Base salary range from $132,579 to $172,369 annually, with potential up to $180,000–$185,000 for highly seasoned candidates.
Annual performance bonus incentive ranging from approximately 17.5% to 26.25%.
Relocation assistance available on a case-by-case basis.
No sign-on bonus at this time.
Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years current or recent Acute Care Emergency Department Director experience
- Required experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Emergency Department
- Experience overseeing multiple Emergency Department sites, including freestanding EDs
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
- Master’s degree preferred
Leadership Qualifications:
- Proven accountability for Emergency Department performance metrics and outcomes
- Experience leading high-acuity environments including stroke and STEMI populations
- Ability to inspire teams, support new graduate nurses, and drive culture change
- Strong operational, financial, and strategic leadership skills
