 Job Summary

Fortune Electrical is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Technician who is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm systems to ensure they operate properly and comply with local, state, and national fire  codes. This role plays a critical part in protecting lives and property.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems according to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and local codes
  2. Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm panels, devices, and wiring
  3. Perform system upgrades and modifications
  4. Conduct sensitivity testing and battery replacements
  5. Program fire alarm control panels and associated devices
  6. Maintain accurate service records and inspection reports
  7. Communicate system status and recommendations to customers
  8. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  9. Provide emergency service calls as needed

Required Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
  2. Experience with fire alarm systems (1–3+ years typically preferred)
  3. Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 72 – National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code)
  4. Familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems
  5. Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
  6. Valid driver’s license
  7. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Certifications

  1. NICET Certification (Level I–III) in Fire Alarm Systems
  2. FASA/BASA Certification 
  3. OSHA safety training  

Skills & Abilities

  1. Strong attention to detail
  2. Good communication and customer service skills
  3. Ability to work independently
  4. Physical ability to climb ladders, lift equipment, and work in various environments
