We are seeking an experienced Medical Scribe to join our team working part time with one Family Medicine physician at our Towson location. The primary goal of a Medical Scribe is to increase the efficiency and the productivity of the physician. The Medical Scribe allows the physician to focus on the patient.
Location: 515 Fairmount Avenue, Towson, MD 21286
SCHEDULE: Mondays and Fridays 9:00 am -5:00 pm;
Thursdays 9:00am - 1:30pm (* May require flexibility to work until 3:30pm)
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Accurately and thoroughly documents medical visits and procedures in the Electronic Health Record as they are being performed by the physician.
- Prepare documentation of physician-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions, and instructions for patient or family members for self-care and follow-up.
- Comply with specific standards that apply to the style of medical records and to the legal and ethical requirements for preparing medical documents and for keeping patient information confidential.
- Ensure that all clinical data, lab or other test results, the interpretation of the results by the physician are recorded accurately in the medical record.
- Proofread and edit all the physician’s medical documents for accuracy, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Some college / Course work in Sciences or Pre-med track preferred.
- Previous experience as a Medical Scribe or medical transcription.(Required)
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments to the extent required to understand and accurately transcribe dictated reports.
- Translate medical abbreviations into their expanded forms. Familiarity with medical terminology
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
