Job Description

Position based in Rwanda

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our team based in Vitry-sur-Seine, France, with primary responsibilities in Rwanda. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge industrial equipment and contribute to the growth of our operations in the African market.

  • Perform on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment for clients in Rwanda and potentially neighbouring countries
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients, including training on proper equipment usage and maintenance
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement solutions for recurring issues
  • Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and parts usage using computerised maintenance management systems
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while working on-site
  • Stay updated on the latest technological advancements and industry trends in industrial equipment
  • Serve as a technical liaison between clients and the company, ensuring clear communication of issues and solutions
  • Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with the logistics team for timely delivery of required components.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar role
  • Proven expertise in diagnostic and repair techniques for industrial equipment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in challenging environments
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Fluency in English and French; knowledge of Kinyarwanda would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with local regulations and safety standards in Rwanda, experience working in Rwanda or other African countries preferred
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) are desirable
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Rwanda and potentially neighbouring countries
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
  • Adaptability to work in diverse cultural environments and challenging conditions.
