Position Overview:
The Server Assistant (Busser) plays a critical support role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and luxury-level dining service. This position is responsible for maintaining clean, organized tables and service areas, assisting servers, and contributing to a seamless guest experience. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in fine dining or luxury hospitality, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Interaction:
- Assist servers in delivering prompt, courteous, and professional service to guests.
- Respond politely to guest requests and support a welcoming, luxury dining environment.
- Ensure tables are reset promptly for new guests and maintain a polished dining room appearance.
Table & Dining Area Maintenance:
- Clear tables efficiently and reset for subsequent guests.
- Remove used dishes, glassware, and utensils promptly while minimizing disruption.
- Assist in setting tables according to restaurant standards, including linens, silverware, and glassware.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with servers, kitchen, and bar staff to ensure smooth, coordinated service.
- Assist with side-work and other tasks assigned by Captains or Lead Servers.
- Help maintain overall cleanliness and organization of dining areas.
Compliance & Safety:
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of dishes, trays, and cleaning chemicals.
- Report unsafe conditions, spills, or maintenance issues to management promptly.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in luxury dining, fine dining, or high-volume food service preferred.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask efficiently and remain composed in fast-paced environments.
- Must be available full-time, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the dining area for extended periods.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs (e.g., trays, dish racks).
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive hand motions efficiently.
- Navigate narrow, elevated, or tight spaces safely.
- Work on uneven or slippery surfaces and stairs frequently.
